Looks like it’s going to be great running weather for the Veteran’s Memorial at Potter Park 5k race on Saturday.
If you’re a runner come join the fun! The first runners registered get a free t-shirt and there’s great prizes for the top male and top female finishers. Race day registration begins at 8 a.m. Race starts at 9 a.m. The race starts and ends on Potter Place at Potter Park in Fairport.
Don’t run? Come watch and cheer! You’ll be able to buy-a-brick in memory of a veteran or give to the Fairport Foundation’s fund drive for the reconstruction of the Veteran’s Memorial at Potter Park.
Also, Fairport Partnership Executive Director, Scott Winner, will be promoting the Veteran’s Memorial project and this Saturday’s 5k fundraiser starting today with the noon broadcast with Rebecca LeClair on 10 NBC WHEC. Tomorrow he’ll be joining News 8 WROC reporter and Fairport native, Stacey Pensgen, for a live remote from Potter Park at 6:10 and 6:45, and then talking to the folks on 13 WHAM/CW at 7:45. Tune in and support Fairport!

Proceeds from a five-kilometer race on Saturday, Nov. 9, in Fairport will benefit the volunteer effort to restore the Veterans Memorial at Potter Park. The fund-raising campaign, under the auspices of the Fairport Foundation, officially begins on Veterans Day, Nov 11.
The run, which will begin and end in Potter Park, is open to all. Start time is 9 am. Registration fee is $17 until Nov. 1, and $25 after that. Any veteran may enter for just $5, and a team of 10 may register for $200.
The Fairport Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization that supports the mission of the Fairport Partnership for a Better Community by gathering resources for community projects and programs.
Well things have really snowballed.

turned into an mini concert with North Side Johnny.
