Coming Soon for 2024

Erie Canalway Corridor - NY Fiber Trail

We’re connecting the fiber loving community with fiber loving outlets, businesses and farms, all along the Erie Canal corridor - from Albany to Buffalo.

The NY wool & fiber industry has a long history along the Erie Canal, which has carried into the present day. The NY Fiber Trail highlights the numerous yarn shops, sheep & alpaca farms and many fiber-related businesses within the Erie Canal Heritage Corridor and encourages fiber enthusiasts to travel from Buffalo to Albany during the summer months, exploring small fiber-centric businesses and their communities along the way.

Knitters, crocheters, spinners, weavers, felters and fiber artists of all stripes can participate all summer long at their own pace. Grab a passport at any of the participating shops and collect stamps as you travel through the corridor, visiting yarn shops and fiber farms along the way! A Project Bag to commemorate travel to Fairport’s Lift Bridge Yarns will be available. Send in your completed passport by October 31 for a chance to win a $300, $175 or $75 gift certificate to the participating shop of your choice!

A NY Fiber Trail website is under construction! We will be adding the list of particpating shops and farms on the site.
